Vadikan: Hydrargyrum
19/03/13 || Cobal
This is gothic metal from Russia and even thought it ain’t exactly my thing these days, I gotta admit I went over tons of similar releases in the past. With that experience, I found “Hydrargyrum” a balanced, well written, performed and recorded work. If you like your metal relaxing —yes, that exists—, this is something you may dig. Personally, I liked the fact that the songs are written following a wide variety of patterns so that they make interesting listening. Also, for once, I’m not forced to listen to operatic vocals. Not for the uninitiated, though.
8/10: If you are into this stuff, you’re gonna enjoy it. Beware otherwise.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
