Well here’s something you don’t come across every day. It’s a brutal death metal band from the Emerald Isle. Despite the silly and perverted gore-based lyrics, the music is actually extremely enjoyable. They find about a thousand ways to find an excellent groove over the course of about half an hour. This is one of the better albums I’ve heard from our stubs section, and I can declare with certainty this is probably the best album I’ve ever heard from an Irish death metal band. The production is also fantastic, especially considering that this is the band’s debut. The guitars sound huge with excellent clarity, and the bass and drums have some good bottom end for establishing the grooves. I can see this band gaining some popularity in the near future, and the sparse population of Irish brutal death metal bands will only help them out in that regard. This album is a stub that’s actually worth keeping. While it doesn’t break any new ground in terms of musicianship or technicality or anything like that, it’s still a pretty good record to listen to.
