Neptrecus: Neptrecus
07/02/12 || BamaHammer
Wow. Okay. Where do we start? Uh, this is some pretty nostalgic, generic traditional black metal from the kvlt-as-fuck town of Paris, France. Nothing about this is original or interesting, and to make matters worse, Neptrecus really like their riffs. They like them so much that they usually play them an extra time or two before switching gears and playing a completely different lame riff too many times over and over, resulting in a four-track black metal demo that lasts 26 minutes. But hey, at least the production sounds like shit. The drums sound triggered as hell while the guitars sound like they’re being shat out of a first-generation Line 6 Pod by a moody kid in a basement and stuck directly into a cheap laptop. The worst part are the shrieky-yet-burpy-somehow vocals. They’re so bad that the levels inexplicably swell and warble, creating an extremely fucken annoying headache. The first minute or so of the third track is so cheesy it’s kind of hilarious, but there is hardly any redeeming quality to speak of here whatsoever. This stuff is boring as hell to begin with, but the overall sound of the album makes it pretty much unbearable, even for a black metal demo.
2/10: Unbearable kvlt poop.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
