Killface: Faceless

Sounds like thrash metal. Thrash metal with harsh vocals. Surprise surprise! It’s not that bad, though. This… band from Ireland are pretty much the most generic thrash outfit you could find in the entire country. They take their cues less from Sodom and more from Testament. I suppose that is a good thing. In fact this demo is pretty much Testament worship. That’s all there is to it.
This is a demo, and therefore has the requisite shitty production. The drums sound weird and slightly muffled, but the guitar tone is relatively decent for a demo. The riffs reek of weakness though. There’s no solos or any of that stuff, just some lead guitar parts here and there. Pretty much it’s reasonably well done thrash metal with a poor man’s Testament/Lamb of God set of riffs.
You wanna know how much I care about this demo? I don’t. I’ve heard much worse in my life, but these four songs from some middle of the road thrash band from the Irish Republic are NOT making me happy, no matter how many “I found this in the used bin for $5” riffs they use. It’s put together well enough, but when it comes down to it – nope. Not enough prime titties for me.
Recommendation: Better vocals, less weak riffing, more solos. Or just stop doing what other bands do better, way fucken better.
