ForceOut: Delusion

29/06/13  ||  Pr0nogo

ForceOut is a comically-titled melodic death metal outfit hailing from the Ukraine. Listening to their debut full-length, “Delusion“, I can tell that these guys have their heads up their asses, but only a little bit. Honestly, this record isn’t that bad: most of the songs are well-paced, and have a good amount of solid moments when you just sit back and listen to the drums blast off with blast beats and the guitars sling the obligatory catchy riff or two at you. So why’s this album only getting a fuckin’ 5? Is it really as bad as Sodom? Well, not exactly, but some of the mistakes these Ukrainians make on “Delusion“ are inexcusable. Their longest song, “Свинцеві квіти” (“Lead Flowers”, eh? Maybe it’s about the paint in Ukraine) is just the same recycled low-BPM shit repeated for five minutes. Was it meant to express just how lazy songwriters can be, or did you guys actually think that that was a good idea? At least when you recycle the same high-BPM shit and repeat that for us for an entire album, it’s just OCD enough for me to say “Meh” before I pay enough attention to punch you fuckers in the penis hat. At the end of the day, “Delusion“ is just another melodeath record that failed to launch. Kind of like North Korea.

5/10: It’s not like you can really blame them. Ukraine obviously has something wrong with its youth, since some of them like Kiss.
