Family: Portrait

It’s a pity this band didn’t bother sending any info along with the CD because this is some pretty good stuff in a sludgy post metal way. I have no idea where they’re from and the band and album names are so bloody generic that nothing turns up through a search. The music is sort of like older Baroness with a slight math rock feel and occasional forays into classic rock. The riffs are all quite catchy and although the shouty vocals get a bit monotonous at times, it’s all mostly good. The lead guitars in particular stand out with a solid classic rock feel to them that makes sense in the context of the song. Overall, if you can find them, this is worth checking out for fans of Mastodon, Baroness and bands of that ilk.
7/10: Not bad at all in an early Baroness way.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
