Disloyal: Prophecy

28/07/08  ||  Kampfar

Disloyal is a Polish death ensemble with more ex-members than members and I bet you don’t care. I sure wouldn’t, hadn’t I signed up to do this review I would have deleted their effort after 4 songs or so. Anyway, this lot tried to kick into gear as early as 1997, and I know it must have sounded horrible, hence tried, for when we speak 2008 they are barely more fluent than a gearbox with more sand in it than Mona Sahlin got up her vagina. A peculiar lady this Monagolid, a sordid cunt with a gigantic vagina, and sadly I’ve yet not heard rumors of her being terminally ill and about to die an incredibly slow and horrible death. That day I will bake a cake.

Cancer inducing twat of idiocy aside, for now is the time for me to tell you exactly why Disloyal should have set fire to their instruments before the calendar turned to 1998. Or perhaps they shouldn’t?

First of all, I exaggerated a bit on the non fluent part, and some additional listens also revealed that beneath the unnecessarily poor production, which is the A.I.D.S of this release, there is hidden some fine, not excellent, but fine guitar work, all which the drummer is allowed to take a piss on. Most so when the fucking tin can blasts are present, that being very often, for it sounds rather really well when they let the kicks and guitars cooperate for 2 seconds. Kick the producer, or rather get a producer, for whoever’s responsible ruined an otherwise ok blast of death and don’t deserve to be called one. Come to think of it, kick the drummer as well, Half Staccato as I now call him.

Do we need a badly produced and less talented version of Incantation? No, we don’t.

4,5 out of 10.
