Catarrhal: Fleshgrave

I love band names, I had to look this up of course and catarrhal is an infection of mucous membranes in one of the airways or in other cavities of the body. It can result in a thick exudate of mucus and slime. Lovely. And then you know what genre we are listening to right away. Brutal death metal.

This has been in my queue for a while, and I can’t come up with something worth mentioning about this. Yes, it’s death metal. Yes, it’s rather fast sometimes, and sometimes a little slower, but with an older feeling to it. But, no, the singer isn’t good enough, it’s a long, low, monotone growl fighting to get through the constant wall of hammering drums and riffs that we all have heard before. And no, there is nothing here to write about in your diary amongst your other life important notes and how people in general are complete asshats.

It fills it purpose, and nothing more. But it’s still on the better side of the dividing line.

5/10: Not really a catarrhal, more like a slight sore throat.
